Past the Pit Gate by Danny Rosencrans
August 13, 2012 -
Family
business took me out of town on Sunday, forcing me to miss my first
night of 2012 at Quincy Raceways.
I confess that I was rooting for rain for more than one reason, and
indeed, there was a steady rain all day and evening where I was.
Apparently the wet stuff fell at QR too late for me, and too early for
the faithful who hang out for every lap. I particularly hated to miss
the tributes to Charles
“PhotoBilly" Haffer, and I was glad that a collection was also taken
at the race I attended on Saturday.
Congratulations to Sunday nights winners, Dustin Griffin in the late
models, Steven Delonjay in the modifieds,
Terry Houston
in stock cars, and Tony Dunker in sport mods. Also, welcome back to Keith Pratt, sidelined three months with engine
issues.
Next weeks program will begin with the final nine laps of the hobby
stock main event, and the rained out sport compact 12 lapper, then the
regular six class program.
Hope to see you there!
