Griffin, Reed, Huls, Dunker, Hoener and Bercerra Grab Quincy Checkers

QUINCY, IL (September 9, 2012) - Jake Griffin, Robbie Reed, Abe Huls, Tony Dunker, Brian Hoener and Austen Bercerra all took feature event wins during Titan Wheel, Manchester Tank and Applebee’s Night at the Races on Sunday September 9.

 Thirteen year old veteran Jake Griffin scored his first UMP Super Late Model feature event win at Quincy Raceways in an impressive manner. Young Griffin started the main event on the inside of the second row and used a low line move in turn two to grab the top spot on the first circuit. Griffin then pulled out to a comfortable margin until encountering the back markers. Griffin worked through the traffic in a fast manner and held off the challenges of Cousin Dustin Griffin to take the feature event win with Dustin Griffin in second, Mark Burgtorf in third, Kevin Weaver in fourth and Michael Long in fifth. Long paced the qualifying with a lap of 14.067 with Steve Thorsten winning the Summy Tire & Auto Center Fast 6 Dash, Dustin Griffin and Matt Bailey taking the heat race wins.

 Robbie Reed held off Steven DeLonjay to take the Miller Lite UMP Modified main event win. Reed jumped into the lead at the drop of the green and dominated the field on his way to his second feature win of the season. DeLonjay scored second followed by Matt Dotson in third, Jake Griffin in fourth and Jared Schlipman in fifth. Dotson scored the fast time with a clocking of 15.512 with Robbie Reed taking the Fast 6 Dash win with DeLonjay, Adam Birck and Jake Griffin scoring the heat race wins.

 Abe Huls continued his domination of the IMCA Stock Car division by scoring his tenth feature win of the season. Terry Houston took the second spot followed by Michael Larsen in third, Darin Weisinger in fourth and Jerry Jansen in fifth.

 Tony Dunker scored his eleventh feature win of the year in the IMCA SportMod main event. Dunker dominated over Tommy Elson in second, Joe Bliven in third, Brandon Dale in fourth and Tanner Klingele in fifth.

 Brian Hoener grabbed his sixth feature win of the season in the Quincy Hobby Stocks over Jake Powers in second, Brandon Symmonds in third, Jeff DeLonjay in fourth and Justin Bevill in fifth. Hoener and Symmonds were the heat race winners.

 Austin Bercerra took yet another IMCA Sport Compact feature event win with his seventh win of the year. Brandon Lambert scored the second position followed by Kim Abbott in third, Casey Lambert in fourth and Jordon DeLonjay Rice in fifth.

 Quincy Raceways will bring up the end of the points racing season this next Sunday, September 16 with TNT Action Sports Harley Davidson Season Championship Night at the Races. The Pit Gates open at 2:30, Grandstands at 4, Drivers Registration Ends at 4:30, Hot Laps at 4:45 and Racing at 5:30pm. Adults are $10, Seniors $7, Students 11-15 $5 and Kids 10 and under are Free as always at Quincy Raceways.
