Weaver, DeLonjay, Huls, Anders, Klingele and Bercerra Wave Quincy Checkers

 QUINCY, IL (August 5, 2012) - Kevin Weaver, Steven DeLonjay, Abe Huls, Bobby Anders, Tanner Klingele and Austen Bercerra all took feature event wins during Miller Lite Mississippi Belle Distributing Night at the Races on Sunday August 5 at Quincy Raceways.

 Kevin Waver put on a dominating performance in the UMP Super Late Model feature event as he jumped out to the lead at the drop of the green flag and pulled out to a comfortable margin over the rest of the field. Mark Burgtorf and Jason Perry battled fiercely through the first twenty one laps for the second spot but were never able to challenge Weaver for the lead, even after a couple of caution flags slowed the action. Brian Shirley came through the pack to challenge Perry for the second spot by the twenty second lap but was unable to gain the advantage over Perry and had to settle for third with Dustin Griffin in fourth and Mark Burgtorf in fifth. Griffin, Burgtorf and Weaver scored heat race wins with Weaver collecting the Dash win for a sweep of the night’s events.

 Steven DeLonjay took the lead from Jared Schlipman in the Miller Lite UMP Modified feature event on the thirteenth lap when Schlipman slipped high in turn two and looked to well on his way to the feature win but young Jake Griffin had other ideas and proceeded to charge into the fray. Griffin used an absolutely unbelievable final lap to charge alongside DeLonjay at the checkered flag but DeLonjay had just enough to take the win by a mere .058 of a second at the line. Griffin settled for second followed by Schlipman in third, Shawn Deering in fourth and Craig Spegal in fifth. Dave Wietholder and DeLonjay took the heat race wins.

 Abe Huls charged through the IMCA Stock Car main event field from his fourth row starting spot to take the lead on the fourth lap and proceeded to hold back Terry Houston for his tenth feature win in thirteen events. Houston settled for second followed by Michael Larsen in third, Jerry Jansen in fourth and Beau Taylor in fifth. Huls and Larsen were the heat race winners.

 Bobby Anders took his second feature win of the season in the Summy Tire and Auto Center IMCA SportMod main event but it was a duel to the finish as Tony Dunker tried in vain to get past Anders. Dunker settled for the second spot by less than a half second with Joe Bliven in third, Tanner Klingele in fourth and Brad Holtmeyer in fifth. Bill Bentley and Anders were the heat race winners.

 Tanner Klingele and Jake Powers put on quite a show in the Quincy Hobby Stock feature event as the tow traded the lead several times over the fifteen lap event. Klingele won out at the checkered flag followed by Powers in second, Brandon Symmonds in third, Brian Hoener in fourth and Jeff DeLonjay in fifth. Symmonds and Powers were the heat race winners.

 Robert Thompson Jr. and Austen Bercerra battled fiercely over the first eight laps of the IMCA Sport Compact main event but when a yellow flag came out on lap eight, Thompson pulled to the infield with a dead engine giving Bercerra an almost clear path to his fifth feature win of the season. Brandon Lambert settled for the second spot followed by Kimberly Abbott in third, Bucky Gallaher in fourth and Pat Dunker in fifth. Brandon Lambert and Thompson were the heat race winners.

 Coming up next at Quincy Raceways will be John Wood Community College Truck Driver Training and Sullivan Auctioneers Night at the Races on Sunday August 12.
